Riverhounds Fall 1-0 in Harrisburg

Long Road Trip Ends With Pittsburgh Going 1-3
(Harrisburg) – The defensive-minded Pittsburgh Riverhounds put up another good fight, but fell 1-0 to the Harrisburg City Islanders before 2,413 fans at the Skyline Sports Complex on City Island in the state capital. The Isles’ Chad Seevers scored the game’s lone goal in the 64th minute. Tiyi Shipalane assisted.
Harrisburg outshot the Riverhounds by a 10-9 margin, including a 7-3 difference in the second half of the match. Pittsburgh goalkeeper Danny Waltman and Harrisburg’s Chase Harrison were each credited with three saves.
The Hounds are now 4-8-3 (15-points) in the United Soccer Leagues Second Division. Harrisburg improves to 9-4-2 (29-points) and remains tied for first place in the USL-2 with the Richmond Kickers.
Pittsburgh finished the four-game road swing with only one victory, a 2-1 win in Bermuda on July 2nd. The Hounds dropped a 1-0 decision in Bermuda on the 4th then lost 2-1 to Real Maryland on the 11th.
Now, the Riverhounds come home to Chartiers Valley Stadium for their final five regular season matches. The Western Mass Pioneers come to Pittsburgh for two games; Friday and Sunday, July 24th at 7:05 p.m. and July 26th at 3:05 p.m. Then, they host Wilmington on August 1st, Charlotte on August 8th, and Crystal Palace Baltimore on August 15th.
