Gbeke and Charles face fines and suspension from USL and club

As we covered on Saturday, Vancouver Whitecaps teammates Charles Gbeke and Wesley Charles nearly came to blows during their match against Miami FC.

The USL will announce the player's punishment today. On Monday, Vancouver indefinitely suspended the two players pending USL review of the incident. Club president Bob Lenarduzzi said their will be additional fines/suspensions from the club in addition to whatever action the league takes.

"We are going to do something in addition to what the league does," said Caps' president Bob Lenarduzzi. "[Fines] will be enough that it will be an impact to them. When you hear your fans booing your own players - and I should add, rightfully so given what went on - it's not the way it's supposed to be,"
